All-Acessible: The Orchestra Sings
CSO welcomes everyone to our performances, but we know that some families hesitate to bring their family members to a live concert without knowing how they might react. Our All-Accessible Concert is designed to be a safe and accepting environment where patrons with disabilities or sensory sensitivities along with their family members are free to speak and move in reaction to the music being played. This concert features our full orchestra in the concert hall setting.
This year, the CSO presents, The Orchestra Sings! Melody is one of the universal elements of music and defines the music we know and love. A great melody can express ideas and emotions, help tell a story, and bring people together through song. Composers create melodies through a combination of rhythmic patterns, sweeping contours, and expressive qualities. Through the Carnegie Hall Link Up repertoire, hands-on activities, and a culminating interactive performance with a professional orchestra, we will explore what makes a melody great.
UTC's Music Therapy department will be on hand to help patrons engage with the music. This concert will have open seating, ASL interpretation, captioning, lighted cues, designated quiet spaces, and headphones and manipulatives available for use. Portable changing spaces are available during the concert.
