Karen Collins’ popular Velvet Chair Experience joins forces with the CSO for an unforgettable evening immersed in the smooth sultry sounds of the music that echoes the soundtracks of your lives.

The Velvet Chair is more than just a show—it’s an experience. The musicianship of the CSO, joined by local jazz legend and CSO bassist Dexter Bell and friends, combines with the powerhouse vocals and creative wit of Chattanooga’s own Karen Collins to create a night you'll never forget.

The Velvet Chair Experience with the CSO is a unique fusion of orchestral sound, jazz, and uptown soul. During the concert, specially selected guests are invited to the front of the hall to sit in the Velvet Chairs and be serenaded with timeless classics by artists like Etta James, Nat King Cole, Sade, Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Lalah Hathaway, and more.
When purchasing your tickets, be sure to complete the song selection questionnaire. You and a guest could be chosen to take a seat in the Velvet Chairs and be honored during the performance. If selected, you will be contacted in advance of the concert.

Karen Collins' vision for the Velvet Chair Experience was born from a desire to create an intimate, yet shared space where music lovers from all walks of life can enjoy a personalized musical experience in an elegant and welcoming atmosphere.

After the show, guests are invited to meet Karen Collins, chat with her in costume, and take their own turn sitting in the Velvet Chairs for a photo.
