A limited number of needs-based scholarships are available to musicians who successfully audition and are selected to an orchestra for the 2023-24 season.

This full tuition scholarship is awarded to an oboe player who has been selected for CYS membership during the upcoming season, in memory of the late Bob Burks, principal oboist in the CSO.

This full tuition scholarship is given to a new, first-year member of the CYS, in either the Prelude or Etude orchestra, each season in memory of Ms. Floy Wang, Etude & Prelude Conductor from 2014-2018.

This full tuition scholarship is awarded to two new Philharmonic members of the CYS, each season in honor of Sandy Morris and her 24 years of dedication & service as conductor of the Philharmonic.

Philharmonic Student Manager Applicants Only at this time. All other positions have been filled.

Student Managers are needed for the 2023-2024 CYS Season. Student Managers are selected by the conductors of each orchestra (two each for Symphony & Philharmonic, one each for Etude & Prelude). They receive a 50% discount off the regular tuition rate for their orchestra.

Current CYS members who plan to attend the 2024 Sewanee Summer Music Festival can apply to be selected and awarded a tuition scholarship.
