Come in something that makes you comfortable. Masterworks performances generally tend to be the most formal and people typically dress in "Sunday best" or business meeting attire. Pops and Chamber performances are a little more relaxed, with attire ranging from jeans to dresses.
The Tivoli Theatre opens one hour before each performance. It is best to arrive fifteen to thirty minutes prior to the performance to ensure ample time for seating. Snack and beverage service are available in the lobby prior to performances and during intermission, so take a moment to relax and get comfortable. If you arrive after the performance begins, an usher will seat you at an appropriate interval in the performance.
There is a large amount of street parking around the Tivoli and also several lots and garages where you may pay to park. The closest garage is on 7th street, between Broad and Chestnut.
CSO performances are approximately two hours long.
CSO performances have an approximate 15 minute intermission.
At a classical concert, the audience usually applauds at the end of an entire work, not between movements. Please refer to your program to find out how many movements are in each piece. If still in doubt, wait until others are clapping and follow their lead!
Even the smallest sounds are amplified in a performance hall. Before the performance begins, please unwrap candy, turn down hearing aids and turn off all pagers, cell phones, beepers, and watch alarms. Photography and sound recordings are not permitted. Avoiding these and other distractions helps create an environment in which the music can be heard and enjoyed by all.
Yes! The Tivoli Theatre is fully ADA compliant. Please see an usher if you require extra assistance.
